Responsible for supporting, creating, executing and evaluating events, programs and marketing strategies at the local and territory level to uniquely brand Dick’s Sporting Goods as the #1 authentic sports, Omni-channel retailer that serves and inspires athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to achieve their personal best through the relentless improvement of everything we do. Additionally, this person is responsible for driving traffic, sales and profitable results. This position is part of the Marketing Team that supports our overall Marketing goals in conjunction with Dick’s Sporting Goods overall corporate goals and brand plan. This person establishes and maintains relationships with our corporate Marketing Team as well as Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers and all Store Management within assigned territories.
The Role You’ll Play:
Community Marketing Program / DICK’S Team Sports HQ
Build relationships with community teams, leagues, and organizations encouraging them to choose DICK’S as their sporting goods retailer of choice.
Increase merchandise sales, traffic counts, customer conversion through strategic programming, which includes: community youth sports kits, in-store events, couponing and promoting the additional services within DICK’S Team Sports HQ
Leverage Community Marketing assets including but not limited to Community Youth Sports (CYS) kits, equipment and promotional items, and cash budget to drive traffic in-store.
Leverage Community Marketing assets to promote the DICK’S Sporting Goods brand through league partnerships such as: logo on uniforms, signage, team websites and other related platforms.
Work with stores in assigned territory to ensure proper execution of Community Marketing programming including CYS kit distribution and in-store events.
Support and educate youth sports organizations on the benefits of TSHQ and solutions it provides youth sports organizations. Benefits include online registration and websites, customized uniforms and fan wear, and donation and sponsorship support
Marketing Event / Program Execution
Ensures execution and evaluation of all territory level (local, district, market and regional) marketing activities, national events, partnerships and initiatives including Community Youth Sports Program, new store marketing programs and other related sponsorship opportunities as directed.
Serve as cross-functional liaison between stores, property management and external partners to ensure execution of programs from conception to conclusion.
Proactively plan, prepare and provide comprehensive support and communication that detail all specifics related to in-store events and programs as directed.
Evaluate qualitatively and quantitatively each event/program and proactively suggest enhanced measures of success.
Sponsorships/Donations/CRM
Evaluate and execute Dick’s Sporting Goods donations requests working in conjunction with Sponsor port program.
Recording of all asset distribution and contract management working in conjunction with local CRM program (Property Port)
Serve as local liaison for community giving and charitable programs.
Ensure proper execution of partnerships with teams, events, etc.
Miscellaneous
Evaluate and manage territorial Community Marketing budget and related expenses.
Assist stores/corporate with key product and competitive information for important sales and promotional events.
Provide feedback to corporate on various territorial market programs, events and product opportunities with assigned territory.
Develop relationships with vendors, sales reps, and service organizations that do business with our company.
Communicate new and regional product opportunities to our buyers and merchandising organization.
Deliver level of excellence and professionalism on all events, programs or projects as assigned.
Serve as approved media trained associate capable of talking to media on behalf of DICK’S as directed by SSC
Assist in managing promotional aspects of DICK’S Grand Openings events
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration or Communications
Three to five years of related experience as a regional or company merchandise or marketing professional in a retail or multi-unit environment.
Possess a valid driver’s license
Successfully pass comprehensive criminal background and motor vehicle checks
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
Flexible availability in work schedule including some nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
