The Disney Advertising Sales team is a part of the Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment for The Walt Disney Company. DTCI is comprised of the Company’s international business units and various direct-to-consumer streaming services, DTCI aligns technology, distribution, international content and advertising sales into a single business segment to create and deliver personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.
Disney Advertising Sales is responsible for advertising sales and integrated marketing for The Walt Disney Company’s entertainment and sports offerings through linear, digital, social and radio businesses This includes ABC, ABC News, Disney Channels Worldwide, ESPN Networks, Freeform, Disney Digital, FX Networks and National Geographic Networks and its eight ABC ABC-owned local stations.
The Sports Brand Solutions group is a team of experts that provide creative marketing sponsorship and integration opportunities across ESPN’s vast content portfolio. The team is responsible for the sponsorship process including, but not limited to, strategy, ideation, and execution.
The primary function of the team is to generate and maximize revenue across our robust multimedia programming, working closely with Disney Ad Sales, ESPN Production/Programming, and Advertisers.
Responsibilities:
The Manager, Sports Brand Solutions will be tasked with supporting Disney Ad Sales in their effort to drive revenue against the NBA, ESPN Films and ESPN+. In this effort, the individual will have core job functions that include but are not limited to the below:
Be an expert on key property/sport assignments (NBA, ESPN Films and ESPN+)
Collaborate with Production/Edit/Programming/PR/Asset Management/etc. to build general and custom opportunities across multimedia platforms
Pitch sponsorships both internally and externally with clients
Integrate within the property assignment verticals within Sports Brand Solutions
Communicate sales strategy
Develop general and custom sales materials leveraging research and case studies to enhance sales efforts
Prepare and manage sales obligations
Manage Sales Deliverables and Timelines across purview
Lead multi-sport RFPs
Serve as integrated marketing solutions lead on the NBA, ESPN Films and ESPN+ for multi-sport client facing campaigns
Serve as a central point person aggregating intel, managing timelines, and ultimately delivering completed opportunities to sales/clients
Manage Property Assignment
Produce Sales Opportunities
Build consensus among stakeholders for ideation process (Management, Legal, PR, Studios, Producers, etc.)
Manage development and execution of cross-platform deals
Manage activation process (timelines, approvals, shoots, post-production, etc.)
Idea generation & creation of pitch materials (RFP and proactive)
Attend client meetings to pitch ideas
Lead Multisport RFPs
Run point on ideation tied to multisport RFPs
Develop materials for sales to respond to client
Present ideas to both internal sales and client
Manage post sale execution (timelines, branded content filming, etc.)
Develop and Communicate Strategy (seasonal and on-demand responsibilities)
Develop sales materials (e.g. Pre-season Pitch Decks, Case Studies, etc)
Join NBA/ESPN Films/ESPN+ Sales Meetings and Sports Brand Solutions meetings to present materials
Align with general market Sports Brand Solutions to understand, influence, and communicate larger strategy
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4+ years of experience in Marketing/Sponsorship
Proven team player with desire to do whatever it takes and thrives in a team culture
Specific experience in multi-media marketing
Strategic and creative thinker with a proactive approach to accessing needs and planning ahead
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several time-sensitive projects simultaneously
Superior communication skills for frequent internal and external client-facing discussion and project management
Desire to build relationships and encourage teamwork
Ability to work flexible hours and occasional travel
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
