The Sponsorship marketing team at Mastercard manages one of the most diverse portfolios of properties of any brand in the world. These partnerships are used to capitalize on consumer passion to influence behavior and drive profitability for Mastercard and its issuing bank and merchant partners. By associating with and leveraging leading properties, personalities and events, Mastercard offers cardholders access to ‘priceless’ experiences which in turn, builds brand preference, drives acquisition and increases card usage. Working with cross functional teams as well as outside marketing agencies, you will be responsible for managing marketing platforms and programs related to Mastercard’s Music and Esports Investments across North America (US & Canada). Responsibilities include: Ensuring the right strategy is in place across these two verticals, event and integrated marketing program execution and reporting, asset management, budget management, managing relationships with internal stakeholders and securing legal, marketing and brand approvals.

  • Have you ever worked on a marketing campaign to showcase innovation or launch a product?
  • What are examples of integrated marketing programs where you have contributed for brands in the music and/or esports space? What exactly was your role in these programs?

  • Have you ever managed contractual sponsorship assets to support B2C and B2B initiatives?
  • Are you able to consolidate and communicate information effectively and efficiently – to C-level management and/or external agencies as needed?
  • What are your thoughts on measuring the effectiveness of sponsorship marketing programs?
  • Have you ever led a marketing initiative, managing the approval process for legal, brand and licensed marks?


    Role:

  • Develop and manage sponsorship marketing plans to support Mastercard’s business and marketing initiatives addressing consumers, issuers, merchants, customer relationship-building, and innovation
  • Oversee the agency’s planning and execution of all on-site activation and event delivery for all Music and Esports properties
  • Manage and build strong relationships internally to maximize sponsorship investments and ensure all business objectives are achieved.
  • Manage budget, accruals and payment processing for all relevant Investments
  • Support innovation integration and product showcase activation across managed properties
  • Support Issuer and Merchant marketing efforts in partnership with account teams
  • Ensure all internal policies, procedures and compliance/ audit requirements related to sponsorship and asset management are followed


    Required Skills

  • Prior experience in marketing, sponsorships management and executing against business objectives
  • Working knowledge of music industry (labels, artists, streaming services, etc.)
  • Experience working with Fortune 500 brands from a client, agency, and/or rightsholder perspective
  • Experience/familiarity with the esports landscape
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams inclusive of brand, legal, digital, media, communications and product
  • Knowledge and interest of new technology and innovation in the payments landscape
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in developing and managing integrated marketing programs with digital/social/mobile components leveraging entertainment content
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior-level audiences
  • Experience managing external agencies
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability/presence to interact with C-Suite executives
  • Ability to manage budgets and payment processing
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
