The Sr. Sports Marketing Manager (SSMM) drives the development and leads the execution of the regional Sports Marketing initiatives. Through events, athletes, the SSMM builds local and regional brand affinity while paying into Red Bull’s relevant global and national strategies.


ATHLETES & INFLUENCERS

  • Establish a rich network and understanding of the regional sports scenes and maintain awareness of emerging sports trends
  • Establish Red Bull as a strong consumer-focused brand by designing and executing a sports program achieving strong credibility of the product and brand, perfect brand awareness, offering personal experiences to our consumers and adding actuality to our brand by following the global Red Bull sport strategy
  • Identify locally relevant sports (athletes’ or event) stories and help create opportunities to amplify their reach within the region and nationally
  • With Athlete Managers and the National Athlete Marketing team, identify, develop and nurture relationships with local athlete talent


    EVENT INITIATIVES & PROJECTS

  • Influence and contribute to the annual Region Sports Marketing Business Plan
  • Lead the project management and execution of local Red Bull Sports Marketing events
  • Utilizes knowledge of local sports scenes to inform development of new event concepts
  • Oversee regional Sports Marketing resources to maximize the impact of local events.
  • Support Athlete and Event Managers with executing athlete projects/initiatives and sport events


    EVENT CAR PROGRAM

  • Lead the planning and execution of the Event Vehicle program
  • Contract and manage third party workforce and onsite logistics
  • Manage Event Car program budget and calendar
  • Evaluate requests and ideate on the best use of the assets to ensure highest impact


    COLLABORATION & DISCOVERY

  • Lead and/or partner with Sales, Event Logistics, and Event and Athlete
  • Marketing Managers to ensure quality planning and execution of all Sports Marketing activities in the region
  • Identify branded and non-branded sports content and stories for our owned and shared media channels


    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Find and hire the right people to drive regional Sports Marketing initiatives
  • Manage direct reports towards annual regional business objectives
  • Enable a high-performing culture by focusing on individual, strengths-based development
  • Identify and train high potential employees for succession opportunities
  • Provide direct, consistent, and productive feedback to help maintain quality performance
  • Create and maintain a culture that rewards relentless effort and exceptional execution in line with Red Bull’s values


    Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing, preferably with a focus on sports, athletes, and consumers
  • An understanding of traditional and non-traditional brand marketing strategies
  • A history of thoughtful execution of innovative ideas
  • A knowledge of and a knack for identifying a wide variety of sports trends and scenes on a regional and national level
  • Management of collaborative projects from ideation through planning and execution
  • Large budget management
  • An understanding and working knowledge of marketing communications and storytelling with an emphasis on content in the digital and social media landscape
  • A strong ability for effective communications (written, presentation, and share ideas articulately)
  • A history of coaching, leading, and influencing in order to foster a collaborative and creative environment
  • University – Bachelor’s Degree
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
