We’re seeking a Manager of Buzz & Cultural Activation to join the Brand Engagement team and help advance Buffalo Wild Wings into a culturally relevant juggernaut. A successful candidate for this position should have experience in earned media as well as brand activation/experiential marketing and has a passion for sports. This person will also need to be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, always-on environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES: To support Buffalo Wild Wings, the Manager of Buzz & Cultural Activation will:

  • Engage & lead external brand public relations to promote Buffalo Wild Wings brand initiatives, partnerships & new food launches 

  • Develop & own a brand activation calendar, leading idea executions across key sports seasons (e.g., NFL Regular Kickoff/Regular Season/March Madness), single day sporting events (e.g., Kentucky Derby), single day non-sporting events (e.g., St. Patrick’s Day) and other cultural moments
  • Proactively generate a constant stream of new ideas to opportunistically promote Buffalo Wild Wings and generate buzz for the brand outside of planned moments during the sporting calendar
  • Draft communications materials, such as press releases, media pitches, PR/activation campaign copy and briefing documents
  • Coordinate ongoing PR/activation campaigns, interacting regularly with key stakeholders in the marketing department and across the brand’s agency roster and brand partnerships
  • Collaborate regularly with other members of the Brand Engagement team, departments across the company and PR and marketing agencies


    Required Skills

  • 5 to 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations or marketing


    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES: 


  • Passionate about sports; specifically, creating memorable fan engagement
  • Creative mindset – desire to constantly challenge the norm with bold, news-worthy ideas
  • Obsessed with culture and finding ways to authentically be part of the heat of the moment


  • Experience working closely with social media teams, brand marketers, & advertising agencies
  • Measurement – ability to demonstrate how publicity supports brand and business goals
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail required.
