We are currently seeking a passionate and creative Influencer Marketing Strategist to help us develop, implement, and optimize our Global Influencer Marketing strategy for our Tennis business. The ideal candidate has experience in leading Influencer strategy as it relates to identifying influencers, building relationships, developing content campaigns, and measuring success. The role reports to the Manager of Global Social Media and will be based in our headquarters in Chicago, IL.


You don’t need to be a tennis player to play at Wilson, but we do want you to have passion for the game. This passion will help you connect with a wide range of individuals and cultivate meaningful social media communities while engaging and building relationships with consumers and developing highly shareable digital content.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Play an integral role in developing and executing competitive Influencer Marketing strategies.
  • Assess, recruit, and on-board new influencers into the Wilson Tennis Global Social Media Ambassador program.
  • Deepen relationships and build brand loyalty with existing Global Social Media Ambassadors.
  • Facilitate and strengthen relationship with current Influencer Platform, Mavrck to optimize use of the tool and streamline campaign processes.
  • Communicate strategy and campaign work with overseas market contacts.
  • Uncover trends and creative storytelling opportunities that leverage influencers to co-create engaging content with the brand.
  • Help to ideate, budget, plan and execute 1-3 Influencer events throughout the year.
  • Track, measure and analyze performance across all campaigns and make strategic optimizations to achieve and exceed growth KPIs.
  • Keep managers, internal peers, and stakeholders informed of all facets of campaign progress while effectively maintaining and prioritizing dynamic deadlines.
  • Understand the global influencer landscape, their social platforms, content creation patterns and their work within the larger sporting goods industry
  • Be an expert on the latest social media and influencer trends and tools, providing recommendations on new channels to test and develop new ways of partnering with influencers.


    Required Skills


    This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Literature, Public Relations, Communications, Multimedia, Creative Design, or a related field. We are looking for a candidate with 1-3 years of strong experience in strategizing, planning, managing, and executing Influencer Marketing programs in a corporate or agency setting.


    Other qualifications include:

  • Significant experience with major social media platforms, their differences, benefits and unique features, including, but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Giphy and Snapchat
  • Social savvy - Addicted to social networking sites & all things Web 2.0 - You spend a lot of time online and stay up-do-date on social media trends including GIFs, Instagram Stickers, Polls, etc.
  • Proper pronunciation of the word “GIF” is a must.
  • Experience leveraging social media management, influencer management and analytics tools, including, but not limited to HootSuite, Sprout Social, Mavrck, etc.
  • Serious emoji skills - needs to be able to locate the goat emoji in 10 seconds or less (for posts regarding Roger Federer and Serena Williams, of course).
  • Creative thinker who can brainstorm content ideas to support brand initiatives with focus on influencers, product launches, ATP/WTA Tour player partnerships, and overall consumer engagement.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, organizational and follow-up skills.
  • A keen sense of pop culture, style and aesthetics.
  • Photography or graphic design expertise is a plus.
  • We are a global brand and social media is always on, so an ability to work nights, weekends, and at 3 am during the Australian Open Finals is part of working in this space.
