As an Athlete Partnerships Manager, you will support the Athlete Partnerships team and relevant departments with building out and executing original content activations with athletes across all sports, with a specific focus on the business aspect of athlete involvement including talent strategizing, procurement and engagement. Whether participating in internal brainstorms, drafting athlete agreement summaries and other supporting materials, pitching athlete and activation ideas both internally and externally or keeping the team organized and on schedule, this role sees the full athlete partnerships lifecycle from ideation to execution.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day ideation, research and athlete documentation process for athlete involvement in various branded content activations
  • Attend internal brainstorms and other internal vetting processes with key company stakeholders (e.g., Content, Media Planning, Production, Athlete Marketing)
  • Draft highly organized and thorough athlete offer outlines for the Legal team’s drafting of each athlete services agreement
  • Attend branded content activations as the company’s on-site athlete partnerships liaison (e.g., production shoots, events, etc.), with travel required for certain activations
  • Liaise with athletes and athlete agency partners on the value of working with the company and applicable brand partner, and facilitate the talent’s deliverables for the campaign including, without limitation, athlete procurement, negotiations, and engagement and all logistics such as scheduling calls and shoots, booking travel and related matters
  • Liaise with brand partners from time to time as requested to pitch and execute activations
  • Work proficiently across various departments to gather and provide relevant campaign and talent related information, including engaging with Legal and Finance on custom deal terms, athlete agreements and other paperwork and payments
  • Monitor and track all athlete services for each campaign in an agreement tracker
  • Work closely with social publishing team on research and assist in social copy editing for athlete social posting


    Required Skills

  • 3-5 years' experience at a talent agency and/or media/content company working with athletes
  • Strong experience and proficiency working with advertising agencies and/or brands directly
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; negotiation skills a plus
  • Excellent organization skills and highly detail-oriented
  • Genuine interest and ability to connect athlete stories to brand campaigns
  • Expertise and/or interest across multiple sports with an extensive knowledge of professional athletes
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of social media marketing and digital space
  • A proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
  • Experience in Keynote and PowerPoint
