The Manager, Event Marketing is responsible for planning, managing and executing various events and promotions held at Belmont Park, Saratoga Race Course and Aqueduct Racetrack in order to increase revenue streams by attracting new guests to NYRA properties. In addition, the Manager, Event Marketing, will work with the media team to develop marketing plans to support such events.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities of the Manager, Event Marketing include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with the department head on the ideation, coordination and execution of events and promotions, including but not limited to: handicapping tournaments, giveaways, musical performances, food festivals, tastings, autograph signings and family-oriented events.
  • Manage and execute NYRA’s handicapping contests and low roller tournaments This includes managing player outreach, filling tournament spots, and coordinating logistics with internal and external stakeholders. Troubleshoot any event day issues that may arise.
  • Prepare and maintain guest lists to help grow NYRA’s database to ensure continued outreach;
  • Respond to guests and industry inquiries pertaining to sevents and promotions; Arrange meetings, appointments and walk-throughs;
  • Supervise and direct the activities of interns/temporary employees for Belmont Stakes Day, the Saratoga Meet, and other big race days.
  • Liaise between the marketing, facilities and sales departments to ensure the proper execution of on track activations.
  • Create post-promotion recaps by analyzing event success based off of pre-established parameters;
  • Work with creative services to provide advertising and marketing support for sponsorship events and group sales;
  • Other projects as required.


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management or a related field.
  • At least four years of experience in sports marketing or entertainment industry.
  • Working interest/knowledge of industry media trends and Sports Marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to work both independently, and as part of a tight-knit team.
  • Excellent organization skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must work well under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work a racing schedule (weekends and holidays) and to work at all three racetracks. This job involves relcoation to Saratoga Springs for 8 weeks in the summer. A travel stipend will be provided.
