The manager of Sponsorships and Partnerships is responsible for the relationship management and oversight of their assigned league, team and/or properties within our Sports, Entertainment and Gaming portfolio and the overall stewardship of these partnerships to maximize their value and deliver against Verizon’s strategic objectives.


You will lead the overall partnership management of your properties with a focus on: day to day relationship management, contract management and negotiations, budget oversight, and ensuring delivery against holistic ROI goals, driving the strategic roadmap including marketing, tech, commercial and consumer goals for the partnership. You will act as central program manager -- setting and communicating goals and details to other teams and ensuring strong coordination of all efforts relating to the partnership. The manager works closely in collaboration with stakeholder teams including Experiential, Media, Brand, Digital/Social, Communications, Product / Tech and others to set and drive a comprehensive and cohesive marketing, content and innovation roadmap for each partner / property to achieve the key KPIs for each. Additionally, you will support the development of new strategies and planning for your vertical area, including developing insights and reviewing / evaluating new opportunities and providing recommendations on the optimization of the vertical area.

  • Interact directly with key external partners and act as key liaison and day to day relationship lead.
  • Assist with stakeholder and agency briefing and presentations to senior management.
  • Review agreements, make recommendations and provide contract negotiation support. Lead negotiations as appropriate.
  • Drive contractual review and internal agreement review/signature process.
  • Analyze customer and fan data and insights for use in program and roadmap development.
  • Provide direction and execute on brand guidelines for all creative and other executions related to our partnerships.
  • Research and provide analysis of competitive trends and analysis including data gathering, report creation.
  • Support technology integration and innovation roadmap with team partners including interaction with internal product team and third party vendors as appropriate.
  • Analyze and review sponsorship proposals and manage any response or follow up to submitters.
  • Communicate and partner with key internal stakeholders to provide strategic direction, understand objectives and business needs.
  • Work with business teams to define and drive commercial and other business growth objectives and facilitate discussions with partner on all business development objectives
  • Track ROI and monitor asset utilization and work to ensure optimal ROI


    Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Sponsorship / partnership management experience
  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

  • Budget planning experience.
  • Proficiency in software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel including willingness to potentially work on holidays or weekends during events.
