The Marketing Specialist, Promotion and Sports Marketing will be responsible for coordinating Seiko Epson Corporation (SEC) marketing and activation programs with the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA). To continually and fully utilize opportunities and benefits delivered from the SEC global sponsorship, the person in this role will administer marketing programs related to the global LPGA sponsorship, including the Epson Tour on behalf of the SEC Corporate Marketing team located in Nagano, Japan. In addition, this person will act as a key liaison with LPGA personnel and professional golfers on the tour, as well as coordinate programs with SEC Marketing team.
This role will be based in the United States and operate under the direction of Epson America. The preferred location is Los Alamitos, CA but remote work options will also be considered.
Role and Responsibilities
Events
Coordinate the benefit allocation and SEC-LPGA approval process that is part of the sponsorship contract and outside contract assets, including but not limited to the following:
o Brand Guidelines
o On-Course signage and programs
o Pro-Am – administrative planning for Pro-Am events, ensuring contract benefits are obtained
o Epson Tour Championship
o LPGA Activation Events
o Women’s Day events
o Value-in-Kind
o Administer LPGA/ Epson Tour branded merchandise provided to LPGA/ Epson Tour golfers and Epson customers
Assist Epson Sales Companies (ESCs) for benefit implementation to fully utilize the given merits at minimum effort by providing administrative information/guidance/support for tournaments and Events on-site and off-site
Pre-Event reporting at the time requesting to redeem the allocated benefits
Post-Event reporting – provided on a regular basis, within 1-2 weeks after the event, and including support drafting year end activity summary
Communications
Content Development to showcase Seiko Epson’s support of the LPGA Global partnership in line with the messaging guideline supplied by SEC. Coordinate production of video content, including but not limited to the following:
o Sponsorship of Epson and LPGA video
o Player Stories videos and web pages
o Pictures of players
o Epson Tour Ambassador Playing Cards
o Content support for ECS such as employee meetings, meet the pro, and related activity with Epson Celebrity endorsers such as the Shaquille O’Neal and Rachel Rohanna video)
Work with Epson Tour Ambassadors to activate content programs per the global sponsorship agreement
Develop Social Media posts and work with social media teams to post the content, provide content and information to Seiko Epson for global communication
Requires 3+ years of experience, preferably managing sports marketing programs
Experience managing events and marketing communications programs
Knowledge of golf industry and/or experience playing golf is a preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management experience
Demonstrated ability analyzing results and writing concise reports recapping programs
Education
Completion of an undergraduate program in sports marketing, advertising, communication
or a related field (B.A. or B.S.)
Travel
Up to 30% Travel Required
