Job Description

Posted On: August 19, 2022

Lenovo is the worlds #1 Gaming PC brand and we are looking for a talented Marketing Manager who will be able to form critical relationships with partners across the gaming industry to bring our brand to life in the gaming community. Partnerships include working with Tier 1 esports leagues, top esports teams, incredible influencers and beyond.

We are looking for someone who has a mixture of BD and an intuitive understanding of the gaming space and how partners can help to influencer our audience’s preference for the Lenovo Legion brand.

You will be working in the global team and operating across EMEA, NA, AP & LATAM. Not only will you be building important relationships, but you will be championing those relationships across all our cross-functional marketing teams.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of experience in global marketing/Influencer marketing/esports marketing related roles.
  • Has strong project management skills and is able to effectively coordinate multiple teams to drive program success.
  • Can work flexibly across time zones (this doesn’t mean that you are working all the time, but it does mean odd hours).

    Responsibilities

We want you to be a self-starter. Someone who is comfortable building new relationships, and someone who can effectively rally and unify multiple teams towards a common objective:

  • Lead the execution of global esports sponsorships (2022 Lenovo is the official sponsor of Intel Extreme Masters).
  • Lead the strategy & planning for our global influencer program and ensure that we deliver clear ROI across influencer activations.
  • Develop new relationships with partners across the gaming space to uncover new marketing and business opportunities.
  • Work with GEO Marketing Teams & Alliance Marketing Teams to ensure that we are all working towards a common goal.

    Required Skills

  • 3+ years of marketing experience and a proven track record in executing successful consumer-facing marketing programs.
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both spoken – whether informal discussion or formal presentation – and written, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and plans simply and engagingly.
  • Incredibly strong attention to detail and project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to “keep the trains running” and deliver complex projects on time.
  • Experience working with and managing agency/consulting partners on complex projects.
  • Experience working on marketing campaigns / assets across multiple different classes, e.g. traditional, social, digital, etail, etc, and familiarity with platforms & tools pertinent to the development and deployment of these asset classes.
  • While an overall familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is a requirement for the job, you should be especially skilled in PowerPoint, capable of efficiently building visually striking (image heavy, word light) decks that facilitate storytelling.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours to get the job done. This is a Global team which means you’ll need to engage with colleagues, partners & agencies on varying time zones. One of the perks of the job is added flexibility. But don’t expect a “standard” 9-5.
  • Education Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field (unrelated fields not disqualifying, but be prepared to demonstrate a deep understanding and love of marketing).

    (Strongly) Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technology. A deep love of and intrinsic interest in technology – at the end of the day we are selling (amazing) gaming laptops, towers, accessories and more. You will need to get in the weeds understanding key features to discern user benefits. If you are not into tech this is probably not the job for you…
  • Gaming. You game? As marketers trying to understand and ultimately convince gamers, being one yourself provides a major leg-up. So if you’ve been part of an end-game guild in an MMO, or made it to Legend/Mythic in the monthly rankings, or even if you game a bit more casually these days but still stay up to date with all the latest and greatest news – this is music to our ears.
  • Marketing. We’re looking for candidates with demonstrated marketing experience and success, but beyond that, we want marketers who know and love the space. What are the most successful brands and how is it that they’ve come to successfully resonate with their audiences? What are the best recent marketing campaigns and what can we learn from them? Are these questions you actively think about and relish discussing? We hope so.
