To supervise, coordinate, and oversee the activities of the Flying Jimmy (Sponsorship & Events) and be the liaison with Marketing efforts of the Ambassador Program. The Supervisor will generate excitement, brand awareness, and increase product sales through promotions at Maui Jim events and the ambassador program.


The primary responsibilities and essential duties of this position are:

  • To continually seek improvement in every aspect of the position, department functions, and processes. Identify and solve problems, recommend, and implement process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Event Specialists.
  • Hire, train, and supervise Event Specialists and interns. Serve as a mentor and resource.
  • Track and monitor the attendance of the Event Specialist staff ensuring time off is accurately documented.
  • Complete 90-day Probationary Period reviews and all annual Employee Performance reviews.
  • Assist with the training of employees on department standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Approve team's expenses via Wells Fargo while following the budget provided by the Director, Sponsorship and Events.
  • Travel to Maui Jim sponsored events to create brand awareness and excitement and increase product sales through promotions. Engage consumers in a professional manner, generating excitement for the product and the event.
  • Oversee all aspects of ALL events within the Flying Jimmy, Music Festivals, Tradeshows, Golf Events, etc. Oversee the coordination of all details of the events to ensure success. Troubleshoot and problem solve as issues arise, confirm timely order confirmation, billing, onsite needs, and recaps.
  • Monitor the flow of the event to ensure staffing is on schedule and appropriate.
  • Communicate any performance issues or disciplinary problems to the Director and Human Resources.
  • Work with agencies, vendors, and Maui Jim Account Executives prior, during, and after events for on-site logistics, and event procedures.
  • Assist with set-up, tear-down, inventory, and coordinate the booth and all promotional items at events.
  • Ensure inventory levels are maintained (billing and ordering) for sunglasses and promotional materials for assigned events.
  • Ensure the team is collecting event data.
  • Project a professional image to all customers while presenting company services and policies.
  • Set up communication/coordination with event staff and local Account Executives.
  • Ensure team is preforming event recaps with detailed photos, post event follow-up reports, using quantitative and qualitative measures and send recaps to Director. Ensure team performs these for each event and provides recap to Supervisor and Director.
  • Effectively utilize literature and promotional material supplied by the Company.
  • Partner with Director, Sponsorship and Events and Marketing team on marketing projects, as needed, i.e. Maka Maka, Children's Home Event, ISM, etc.
  • Ambassador and Affiliate Marketing Liaison:
  • Align the Affiliate and Ambassador marketing strategy with the overall brand activation strategy.
  • Work closely with our Marketing team to develop specific promotions for the Ambassadors with the Ambassador Specialist.
  • Seek out Ambassador Sponsorship events for Director, Sponsorship & Events to approve.
  • Analyze and select events that best fit our ambassador profiles and strongly promote Maui Jim sunglasses. Coordinate all aspects of these events and attend these events, managing all aspects from set-up to tear-down, order entry and billing, as well as aiding with social media integration, web activities, and any other relevant areas. Travel to all key events is mandatory.
  • Assist with creating and executing Ambassador Inquiry Page and Industry Program/Pro Deal program.
  • Provide outstanding follow-up and customer service to all inquiries. Respond through written and verbal communication as needed with the Aloha Spirit.
  • Work closely with Ambassador Specialist, Global Brand Manager, Digital Marketing Team, and Brand Strategy Team to provide lists of people and events that we are sponsoring for social media and website content.


    Other Duties:

  • Serve as back up to the Ambassador Specialist, Event Specialists and Retail Associates.
  • Extensive travel required ~ 60-75%.
  • Perform other work-related duties as requested or required.


    Required Skills


    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or related field is preferred. Minimum 3 years of marketing, event management or promotions experience is required.
