Denver-based telephone, Internet and cable provider Qwest gave the fair $250,000 in cash to be the presenting sponsor and also had an in-kind contribution called "Planet Qwest," a large domed area that showed off products during the day and became a club at night.

She added that sponsors want real estate at the fair, and are investing heavily in promotions that get people to the fair as well as to the sponsor’s booth.
