CPF Women’s Open is a Canadian Powerlifting Federation (CPF) sanctioned meet comprised entirely of female lifters. Set to take place Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at Crossfit Connection (Burlington, ON) this event will be the first of its kind in Ontario.

“On the surface a powerlifting meet can look and feel intimidating, when really they are exciting and empowering”, says co-organizer and amateur CPF competitor Allison Faulkner. “Our hope is that this meet will encourage more women to join the sport, and ultimately strengthen the powerlifting community among female lifter. Women supporting women always breeds’ great things.”

Co-organizing the event is Canadian Powerlifting Champion Alastair MacNicol, the current Canadian record holder in the deadlift (760lbs at 220lb bodyweight) and ranked top 20 all time by powerlifting watch.
