CMJ Music Marathon is an annual event where selected bands and artists play at various clubs throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn.
CMJ Music Marathon was introduced in 1980, with only a few venues around NYC as a way for industry professionals to discover new breaking artists in the college radio world. It was founded by Joanne Abbot Green and Robert Haber.[2] It was named after the New York City Marathon going on at the same time its first year.
