Film Society of Little Rock's mission is to provide innovative and unique year-around programming that will engage the hearts and minds of audiences in the City of Little Rock, State of Arkansas, and the surrounding region.
FSLR currently has two principle festivals, both of which run for a period of four days:
FANTASTIC CINEMA & CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL
Fantastic Cinema is a genre film festival programming some of the best sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thriller, and hybrid movies from around the world.
Fantastic Cinema & Craft Beer Festival will combine two passionate fan bases that are a natural fit. Loyal fans of genre movies follow the franchises, stars, and directors for a lifetime. They attend festivals and conventions and purchase products, autographs, and memorabilia associated with the films they love.
Arkansas’s craft beer industry has taken off in the past few years and generates dedicated followers. Past craft beer festivals in Arkansas, as well as elsewhere, have been able to draw thousands who often remain for the entirety of the festival. We will add food trucks and multiple vendors, along with the fascinating movies, providing a true festival destination for Arkansas and beyond.
KALEIDOSCOPE:
THE LITTLE ROCK LGBT FILM & WINE FESTIVAL
Kaleidoscope celebrates the diversity of the LGBT community and filmmakers by presenting poignant and thought-provoking films documenting LGBT lives truthfully and with respect. Kaleidoscope celebrates the power of film to transform lives and opinions of those both inside and outside the LGBT community through the universal medium of the cinema.
Kaleidoscope is Arkansas's only major outlet for LGBT films, as well as LGBT filmmakers. The LGBT audience is comprised of one of the most discerning and influential demographics to be found at any film festival. In 2016, we will be adding the new component of a wine festival to further expand the appeal of the festival and create a premiere summer festival destination for the state and the region.
FILM SERIES & MINI-FESTIVALS
In 2016, FSLR will expand it's offerings with new feature film screenings, short film series, an expanded Made in Arkansas feature film series, and FLIPBOOK - Arkansas's first animation festival taking place over a period of two days in November 2016.
