Advocate Weekly papers and CT.com host Connecticut Music Awards in conjunction with the annual Grand Band Slam, a Connecticut institution among fans of local music. Readers from across the state vote on their favorite local bands and then attend concerts where the nominated bands perform. The results of our annual local music readers’ poll show who our readers like best, from hip-hip to reggae to pop to metal, and are officially announced at the Connecticut Music Awards. The Grand Band Slam voting culminates with a concert series across the state featuring the winning bands.
