Property Summary
Founded in 1998, the Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) is a project of the Maine Film Center, a nonprofit organization that seeks to enrich, educate and entertain audiences through film and art. The 18th Annual MIFF will be held July 10-19, 2015 in Waterville, Maine at Railroad Square Cinema and the Waterville Opera House.

A ten-day celebration of cinema, MIFF presents around 100 movies, representing the best of American independent and international film. MIFF also spotlights some of Maine and New England's most exciting and innovative film projects. Each year over 50 filmmakers, including directors, producers, writers, actors and musicians, travel from all over the country and the world to attend the festival and interact with audiences through informal Q&A sessions, lively parties and more, giving attendees an incredible chance to hear about the art of film from those on the front lines.

MIFF's special guests have included Mid-Life Achievement Award honorees Glenn Close, Keith Carradine, Thelma Schoonmaker, Malcolm McDowell, Jay Cocks, John Turturro, Bud Cort, Walter Hill, Lili Taylor, Ed Harris, Peter Fonda, Jonathan Demme, Sissy Spacek, Terrence Malick, and Jos Stelling. In addition to these and many other American actors, directors, editors and producers, MIFF has brought filmmakers from Brazil, Iran, Taiwan, Hungary, Chad, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and numerous other countries to Waterville, Maine.
