More than 500 adult and youth lifeguards from across the nation are expected to compete for individual and team honors at the United States Lifesaving Assn. National Lifeguard Championships, held in Cape May, New Jersey August 8-11, 2012. The United States Lifesaving Association National Lifeguard Championships has a variety of events and divisions, participation by men and women of all ages from around the country, and three days of racing. The USLA Nationals has rowing, swimming, running, paddleboarding and surfski races, plus combination races in which the guards do several of those activities in the same event.
