The New Mexico Pets Alive! (NMPA!) program to increase the quality of life and successful adoption placement of New Mexico shelter dogs, NMPA! Playing for Life and Training/Adoption Center, is being developed in partnership with Aimee Sadler, Director of Behavior and Training at Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, Founder of Dogs Playing for Life and recent inductee into the International Association of Canine Professionals Hall of Fame. The NMPA! Playing For Life and Training/Adoption Center program will be only 1 of 5 such training centers in the nation - right here in New Mexico! New Mexico Pets Alive! is honored to continue our work with Aimee Sadler begun in the Spring of 2012 to help more shelter dogs in New Mexico and to be a part of this national development.
The establishment of the NMPA! Playing for Life and Training/Adoption Center will assist not only those dogs which have been transferred into the NMPA! At-Risk Shelter Pet Rescue Program and dog adopters/guardians/owners but it will also serve as a training and assistance center for rescue groups, animal control depts and both municipal and private animal shelters in New Mexico who wish to learn to duplicate the success of Aimee Sadler's programming which is now responsible for maintaining a successful canine live release rate of over 95% in open admission shelters. With your help, we will deliver this lifesaving resource across NM and assist in exponentially increasing the quality of life and successful adoption efforts for shelter dogs in New Mexico.
