Transportation Choices is a nonprofit organization that encourages Washingtonians to choose alternatives to cars and advocates for funding and policies that support those choices.
As part of our ongoing community education and outreach programs, we are doing a Ride Transit Month (RTM) in April 2015. RTM is a month-long celebration of transit, challenging new riders to give it a try and old riders to take it beyond their usual use.
In 2013, we had over 900 people participate in our challenges and in our events resulting in savings of 104,000 pounds of C02 through increased ridership.
Next year, we are growing the program, targeting participation in the challenges and events to over 3,000 people.
The Ride Transit Challenge encourages people to increase their usage of public transit through a county-wide competition with leaderboards and daily prizes to incentivize login their trips on our microsite.
Our promotional plan will reach over 30,000 people in the Puget Sound region through partner organizations, earned media and paid media.
