Starr King Open Space is a 3.5-acre hilltop open space overseen and managed by the residents of the Potrero Hill neighborhood in San Francisco CA. The land was set aside as open space when adjacent condominiums were developed in 1985. A nonprofit volunteer board, elected by the neighborhood manages the land. Through the hard work of community stewardship, SKOS is now a natural grassland which serves as a sanctuary for people and a habitat for wildlife.

SKOS Board of Directors is a nine-member, all volunteer Board dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the Open Space as native habitat for wildlife and a sanctuary for the people of Potrero Hill and the San Francisco Eastern Neighborhoods.
