The Verge Awards, for teens on the Verge of Greatness! has built the nation's ONLY online stage for nationwide high school talent contests! And we're awarding college scholarships and other prizes to winning students, and funding to their schools for arts and enrichment programming!
We have the commercial appeal of shows like American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, The Grammy's and more, and we will attract the audiences you are trying to reach, but instead of the ad revenue going to Simon Cowell, it's funding public education! So your marketing dollars will achieve social impact, and your brand will be associated with funding of public education.
Picture contests like the best female pop vocalist, or best hip hop dancer, best poet, painter, or photographer, and even best video game designer or robotics engineer! Students simply upload videos to our website, and professional adjudicators and the general public will determine who advances from local, to state, to regional and finally, national championships that will hopefully be televised!
So we're bringing the structure of High School Athletics to the remainder of more than 14 million public high school students to allow them to compete and be discovered by college recruiters too.
We're launching the "High School Battle of the Boroughs" in NYC this February/March, and the Apollo Theater is joining us to find the city's best teen singers, dancers and visual artists. We're seeking sponsors to cover a total of $125,000 in prize money for the winning students and schools in each borough and then city-wide, for their arts programming.
