Mohegan Sun, located in Uncasville, Connecticut, is the second largest casino in the United States with 364,000 sqft of gaming space. It is located on 240 acres along the banks of the Thames River. It is at the heart of the scenic foothills of southeastern Connecticut, where 60 percent of the state's tourism is concentrated. It features the 12,000-seat capacity Mohegan Sun Arena, home of the Women's National Basketball Association's Connecticut Sun. It houses a 350-seat Cabaret Theatre, the 300-seat Wolf Den, and 100,000 sqft of meeting and function room space, including the Northeast’s largest ballroom and 130,000 sqft of retail shopping. It is the home of New London's WMOS FM radio station.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, located in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States, honors exceptional basketball players, coaches, referees, executives, and other major contributors to the game of basketball worldwide. The Basketball Hall of Fame was first incorporated in 1959 at Springfield College - the institution where James Naismith invented the sport in 1891 - and in that year, the hall inducted its first class of members.
