Westin Hotels & Resorts are an upscale hotel chain owned by <a href="https://sponsorpitch.com/sponsors/starwood-hotels-and-resorts">Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide</a>. As of 2011, Westin operated over 160 hotels in 37 countries. In 1930, hotel owners Severt W. Thurston and Frank Dupar, both of Yakima, Washington USA, formed a partnership in order to manage their hotels more efficiently. Together with Peter and Adolph Schmidt they formed Western Hotels, with seventeen properties, all but one in the state of Washington.

The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon is an annual race held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada . As Canada's Longest Running Marathon marathon event in Canada, it has a certified running distance of 26 miles and 385 yards long. Last year's marathon was sold out and approximately 9,000 people are expected to participate this year. This marathon is certified by Athletics Canada and is a registered AIMS Marathon, and therefore can be used as a qualifying marathon race.
