Bank Gets Branding On NBA D-League Jerseys

In what many will likely view as another step towards one day seeing logos on NBA uniforms, the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) and BBVA today announced the bank’s logo will be prominently featured on NBA D-League team jerseys during the post season. In 2010, BBVA became the league's official bank at a cost of over $100 million for four years.

BBVA’s logo will be featured across the back of all NBA D-League jerseys during the post season. This marks the first time that a league marketing partner will receive brand exposure on NBA D-League team jerseys other than adidas, the league's official outfitter. In addition, a new co-branded logo will be used during all promotional and broadcast elements. BBVA will have a featured presence in the playoff teams' arenas, where its brand will be displayed on pole pads, court decals, seatbacks, and rotational courtside signage during nationally televised games on NBA TV.

“We are excited about expanding our relationship with the NBA D-League, which epitomizes our values of teamwork, effort and fair play,” said Sheiludis Moyett, BBVA Compass director of brand and advertising. “Additionally, the exposure we get from presenting the playoffs and the finals, especially with our logo displayed prominently on the player jerseys, is a huge step in building the BBVA brand and strengthens our connection with fans and customers."

“BBVA is expanding our partnership to align with the NBA D-League Playoffs and Finals and raise its visibility with our passionate fan base,” said Dan Reed, President, NBA Development League. “We pride ourselves on providing innovative and unique marketing solutions for our partners, and BBVA’s prominent brand presence on the back of our jerseys throughout the Playoffs and Finals is a great example of the variety of opportunities we offer to drive awareness and value for our partners.”
