Betfair Helps Bitter Rivals Find Common Ground -- With Garbage Truck

For this week's game between Manchester United and Manchester City, Man U sponsor, BetFair, has come up with a promotion that is aimed at appeasing fans of both teams. The official betting sponsor of Manchester United, has launched a promotion that asks fans to literally trash their Carlos Tevez jerseys. Tevez angered Manchester United fans when he left the team in 2009 for Manchester City, but subsequently angered Manchester City fans also by refusing to come off the bench in a recent game. So there you go. To facilitate the disposal of Tevez shirts, Betfair, which is never shy with its activation, has set-up recycling trucks outside Old Trafford, where this weekend's game between the two teams will be held. There's even a charity tie-in, as the betting company, will send the recycled jerseys back to the Argentinian striker's home country, where they'll be given to charities.

In just over 24 hours, the video below by BetFair has been viewed nearly 75,000 times.
