Bwin and Real Madrid Renew Shirt Deal

Bwin and Real Madrid Football Club today announced the extension of their sponsorship agreement until the 2012-2013 season.


"We are proud to sponsor the greatest football club in the world. bwin and Real Madrid are linked by much more than just a sponsorship commitment lasting several years." Manfred Bodner, Co-CEO of bwin said. "A huge passion for football and for sports in general are just a few of the points that form the basis for the lasting and successful collaboration between us. We are convinced that in the next few years Real Madrid will continue to add to its incomparable history with a tenth Champions League title."

bwin's initial deal, signed in '07-'08 was rumored to be worth $22-29 million a year, but no details were released on the financials of the new deal.

"International football needs partners like bwin, globally renowned for its experience and its involvement in sports sponsorship. We are very pleased with this fruitful collaboration: with this alliance we can strengthen our links with leading international companies," added the president of Real Madrid, Florentino PĂ©rez.

On September 15th, Real Madrid begin their Champions League campaign at the Letzigrund without the Bwin branding, to stay in compliance with Swiss law.
