Euro 2012 Lands Home Improvement Sponsor
Ukranian home improvement retail chain, Epicenter K, has become the first national sponsor for UEFA EURO 2012. The announcement was made in a ceremony held by UEFA earlier today. Deal terms were not released.
As part of the deal, the Epicenter K brand will receive perimeter signage during matches played in Ukraine – including the final – the right to run ticket promotions, as well as licensing rights for the manufacture and sale of UEFA EURO 2012-branded products in the home improvement category.
"It is UEFA's intention to have four national sponsors in Ukraine and in Poland," UEFA Events SA CEO, David Taylor, said at an event announcing the deal Kyiv. "This announcement is the first of its kind and it shows Ukraine leading the way in an important activity relating to EURO 2012."
UEFA provides ten global EURO sponsors with global rights, and offers four national sponsors in Poland and four national sponsors in Ukraine, with certain designated rights in those host countries. Epicenter K is Ukraine's first national sponsor.
