FIFA Scores Official Insurance Provider For 2014 World Cup

FIFA has secured another national sponsor for the 2014 World Cup in Rio de Janiero. Brazilian insurance company Liberty Seguros will serve as the Official Insurance Provider of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Liberty Seguros is a Brazilian subsidiary of U.S.-based property and casualty insurer, Liberty Mutual Group.

“We are looking forward to playing our part in welcoming the FIFA World Cup back to Brazilian soil for the first time since 1950 and are sure that our involvement in the tournament will have a great impact on our business within Brazil,” Luis Maurette, CEO of Liberty Seguros, said. “We firmly believe that this sponsorship will bring us closer to our consumers."

Liberty Seguros will join Latin American bank, Itaú, and candymaker, Chocolates Nescau as National Sponsors. As part of the agreement, the Brazil-based insurance company will receive extensive national marketing rights for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which will be leveraged across promotion and advertising in Brazil. h

“It gives us great pleasure to welcome Liberty Seguros to our sponsorship family for the 2014 FIFA World Cup," Thierry Weil, FIFA’s Marketing Director said. "The fact that so many Brazilian brands are showing such great interest in the event years before it is due to arrive in the country highlights what football and the FIFA World Cup means to the people of Brazil. We’re looking forward to Liberty Seguros accompanying us on the journey to 2014." #newstag
