Gator Bowl Finds Title Sponsor In TaxSlayer.com

Georgia-based online tax software, TaxSlayer.com, will take title sponsorship of Jacksonville's Gator Bowl in a three-year deal to be announced today, according to the Florida Times-Union. Back in March, Progressive Insurance announced it would not renew its one year sponsorship deal. Prior to that, Konica Minolta held title rights between 2007 and 2010. Terms of the deal TaxSlayer deal have not been announced.

This is not the first sports sponsorship for the company, which competes against companies like Intuit's Turbo Tax in the tax prep category. TaxSlayer has been a heavy NASCAR sponsor over the past few years sponsoring JR Motorsports and TRG Motorsports.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Gator Bowl Committee in supporting the Gator Bowl Games," said Jimmy Rhodes, President of TaxSlayer.com. "Our company and this outstanding organization can combine our common efforts and make a stronger impact in serving the young adults and military personnel of this great country."

"We are extremely proud to be associated with such an outstanding company that shares the Gator Bowl's commitment to college athletics," Greg Smith, Chairman of The Gator Bowl Association said. "As the country's 6th oldest Bowl game, we believe that TaxSlayer.com further enhances the Gator Bowl's image as one of the premiere Bowl games in the nation."
