K-Mart Delivers Kenny in 3-D

K-Mart and country superstar, Kenny Chesney, have teamed up for the theatrical concert release of "Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D" which will premier this weekend at the 45th-annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The K-Mart-sponsored production was shot in 3D over seven nights in six locations, Boston, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Seattle, during his 2009 Sun City Carnival Tour. While Chesney is taking the Summer off from touring, "Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D" will be in select theaters nationwide between April 21st and May 2nd.

"When you combine state-of-the-art movie technology and one of country's most exciting performers, it's the kind of entertainment event that's going to make waves," said Karen Austin, president of Home Electronics for Sears Holdings. "In the next 10 to 15 years, 3D will be part of everything we do, whether it's sports, concerts or gaming, and Kmart will be in the forefront of supporting this technology."

"Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D" used 22 camera rigs, stereo image processing systems and the latest 3D image-scaling technologies to bring the concert experience to life.

"When we started making this film, I wanted to create something that felt like what we do live," explains Kenny Chesney, the four consecutive year Academy of Country Music award winner and four-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year. "3D gave us the opportunity to not just let fans relive what was a very special summer for us, but to literally know how it feels to be a part of the show!"

The movie was produced by The Hot Ticket, the Sony Pictures Releasing special programming division and theater locations and dates can be found at www.thehotticket.net/kennychesney/.
