Kumho Continues Push Into College Sports

Coinciding with the kick-off to the college football season, tire manufacturer, Kumho Tire USA, has itself been on a tear kicking off sponsorships with several major college athletic programs throughout the country. Modern Tire Dealer reports that the company has this week signed its fourth collegiate sponsorship in as many weeks by cutting a deal with Texas Longhorns Football.

The deal comes on the heels of the tire manufacturer's deals with SEC powerhouses, Tennessee and Florida, as well as the Big 10 heavyweight, Ohio State.

“The Longhorns, like Kumho, exemplify performance, commitment, pride, and tradition,” says Armand Allaire, Kumho’s national vice president of sales. “The thousands of die-hard, burnt-orange-and-white clad fans are the same consumers we want on board as we expand our efforts in sports marketing.”

The Longhorns deal, like Kumho's other recent sponsorships, consists of an integrated package of assets that ranges from video board and in-stadium LED signage to hospitality, on-site consumer promotions and web collateral.

Update: Kumho has also added a sponsorship with the USC Trojans. Check out the activation pics.
