Liberty Mutual Group, the country's fifth largest property and casualty insurer, announced today that it has entered into a three-year agreement to become the title sponsor of the Liberty Mutual Invitational, a local amateur charity golf tournament series that will hold 72 events across the U.S. in 2010. The tournament series was most recently known as the Cadillac Invitational, a sponsorship that Cadillac, ended in 2009 after 19 years.

Liberty Mutual projects that the 2010 events will together generate in excess of $5 million dollars to support national and local charities.

"We are delighted to become the title sponsor of the Liberty Mutual Invitational and a partner with community, business and charitable leaders in the communities where these tournaments will be played," said Edmund F. Kelly, Liberty Mutual Group chairman, president and chief executive officer. "While the events are providing a day of friendly competition for amateur golfers they will be raising much-needed funds for charitable organizations helping to serve those in the community with basic human needs."

Liberty Mutual is also the title sponsor of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a 30-year relationship the company has had with this official event on the PGA Tour`s Champions Tour. Liberty Mutual announced at this year's tournament held in Savannah, Georgia in April that it was extending its title sponsorship of the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf through 2014.
