Microsoft Named Official Software Supplier of Sochi 2014
Microsoft has been chosen as the official operating system supplier to the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The deal was announced on Thursday by President and chief executive of Sochi 2014, Dmitry Chernyshenko, and Nikolai Pryanishnikov of Microsoft Russia.
“The agreement with Microsoft is very important because the company has specific experience of having co-operated with the organising committee of the Beijing Olympic Games,” Chernyshenko said in the announcement.
Microsoft told Russian IT website, CNews, that 15 functional information systems will be developed with the help of the Sochi 2014 organizing committee, dealing with with transportation, conferences and other issues.
