Molson Coors, NHL Will Appeal Court's Decision

Molson Coors isn't losing the NHL without a fight. The Canadian Press reports that Molson Coors Canada and the NHL plan to appeal an Ontario court ruling that last week blocked what has been called the most lucrative sponsorship deal in NHL History.

The ruling, handed down on Friday, stated that the NHL, in agreeing to a $375 million deal with Molson Coors, violated a previous agreement it held with Labatt.

Both league executives and the CEO of Molson Coors have spoken out in disagreement with the verdict and vow to appeal the ruling.

According to the Toronto Star, Justice Frank Newbould recommended an injunction against an NHL-Molson Coors agreement.
