Mumbai Indians Sign Largest Jersey Deal In IPL History

Hero Honda Motors, a joint venture between the Hero Group of India and Honda of Japan that has become the largest two wheeler manufacturer in India, has signed a three year deal that will place its logo on the Indian Premier League cricket team, the Mumbai Indians. According to a statement from Hero Honda, the agreement is the largest team sponsorship agreement in the history of IPL. The Economic Times reports that the deal is worth Rs 65-70 crore (~$15 million).


"We are happy to partner with Hero Honda, one of the most iconic brands in the automobile space. With our new partner, and inspiring additions to the MI family, we look forward to recreate the magic with Desh Ki Dhadkan hum duniya hila denge," said a Mumbai Indians spokesperson.

“As in every other sphere of our sports-related initiatives, we keep looking for new and exciting opportunities to bring joy and cheer to the fans," a Hero Honda spokesperson said. "In keeping with this spirit, we have joined hands with the Mumbai Indians – the most exciting IPL team with its impressive line-up of cricketing stars."

Hero Honda, which will replace consumer electronics firm Videocon on the Indians' front jersey, has ended its three-year association with IPL rival, the Delhi Daredevils.
