Nike Signs Multi-Year Deal With U.S. Open of Surfing
IMG Action Sports has come to an agreement with NIKE to make the brand a major, multi-year sponsor of the U.S. Open of Surfing. Started in 1994, this year's U.S. Open will be held July 31 to August 8 in Huntington Beach, California. NIKE brands Hurley, Nike 6.0 and Converse will all take part in the surf, skate and BMX events, which last year attracted 500,000 fans.
“As we saw last year, there’s no better ‘surf stadium’ than Huntington Beach,” says Bob Hurley, Hurley Founder and Chairman. “We’re always looking to improve the experience both in the water and on the sand, and we’re excited to continue working with Nike 6.0 and Converse to help make that happen in 2010 and beyond.”
The U.S. Open of Surfing is owned and produced by IMG Action Sports.
