PBS Replaces Exxon Mobil With Luxury River Cruise As Masterpiece Sponsor

Six years after Exxon Mobil ended its 30-year partnership with PBS' Masterpiece, the iconic program has landed a new title sponsor. "Masterpiece" executive producer Rebecca Eaton told the the Television Critics Association yesterday that PBS had partnered with Viking River Cruises, who will assume sponsorship of the program in the fourth quarter of this year.


“Their people are our people,” Eaton said at the event. “We are truly a marriage made in heaven. We all have very high hopes for it to be an ongoing and successful marriage.”

Switzerland-based Viking Luxury Cruises was founded in 1997 and today operates a fleet of river cruising vessels that take guests along the rivers of Europe, Russia, Ukraine and China. The company's U.S. headquarters is based in Woodland Hills, California.
