Report: Budweiser-FA Deal Imminent

The FA will announce Budweiser as the new sponsors of the FA Cup after Saturday's final but only following a bitter beer war that could cost the organisation as much as £8m. The Football Association, also known as FA, looks to have secured a major beer sponsor, but will come at the cost of another? The Daily Mail reports that American brewer, Budweiser, will as much as £8m for the honor.


"The decision to bring in the American drinks giants to replace E.on as backers has incensed long-term partners Carlsberg. The Danish lager brand have deals in place, with their pouring rights for Wembley and secondary sponsorship contracts around Team England and the FA Cup, and believe bringing in Budweiser would be in breach of exclusivity clauses."
