Shark Tank Helps Lip Balm Land Mavs Deal

Since appearing on Season 3 of ABC's hit show, Shark Tank, Kisstixx has launched in over 30 countries and at retailers like Winn Dixie, Kmart, Icing, Walgreens, Fry’s, Associated Foods, Party City, and QVC, but perhaps no other deal symbolizes its rapid success more than its most recent marketing partnership. The lip balm start-up that Mark Cuban invested in last March announced this weekend that it will be sampling specially designed Dallas Mavericks flavors at the team's home games this month. Attendees will receive either a "Mavericks Dancer" or a "Mavs ManiAAC!" labeled package. In addition, Kisstixx will be featured on the Mavericks Kiss Cam during the games in which the lip balm is given out.

Fans spotted on the Kiss Cam will be encouraged to put on the Kisstixx lip balm and then go in for a smooch. The way it works is one person applies one lip-smacking flavor on their lips and their partner puts on the other flavor. When they kiss, the flavors mix to create an entirely new flavor. The partnership may go to show that it's not just the money that matters.

"Being part of the Kiss Cam at the Mavericks games is a perfect fit for our product and brand," said Dallas Robinson, CEO of Kisstixx. "We worked with the Mavericks to prepare Mavericks-branded labels for the Kisstixx we'll be distributing. We're really excited for people to try our product out during the game. And who knows, people might actually watch a little basketball between make-out sessions."

Kisstixx was featured on ABC's Shark Tank in March of 2012, and has since seen their episode re-aired on ABC three times. Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, invested in Kisstixx for part ownership in the company and continues to help with its corporate strategy.
