Ad Age reports that daily deals start-up, Groupon, has purchased a pre-game ad spot for the Super Bowl, after reportedly being shut out of the game, itself.

Ad Age says Groupon is working with Crispin Porter & Bogusky in a move that indicates the start-up is ready to pursue more traditional marketing channels such as TV, radio, billboards, sponsorships, etc.
