Team Shoots Down $10MM Sponsorship Proposition

Ashley Madison can't buy a Valentine's date with popular australian professional rugby team, the Cronulla Sharks. The club has responded in no uncertain terms to a recent $10 million sponsorship proposal from the adultry matchmaking service, writing "even if it’s $50 million the Sharks still say NO!"

"We have built a strong commercial platform for the future, and yes we would be interested in alignment with quality brands, but we are not going to sell the very fabric of this Club at any cost, even if the offer was $50 Million the answer is still no, it goes against the intrinsic beliefs and values that gives us purpose," says the club's CEO Steve Noyce in a statement released earlier today.

Ashley Madison earlier this month offered to sponsor the team's kit and stadium, in addition to covering a $1 million league fine from the NRL. The website also reportedly offered $4 million for naming rights to a FIFA World Cup venue in Brazil just last month.
