The Southeastern Conference Now Has An Official Department Store

Macy's has inked a deal with the Southeastern Conference to become the official department store of the SEC and all SEC Championship events. The relationship, which was negotiated through SEC Sports Marketing, an IMG College property, will run through December 2013.

As a sponsor of the SEC, the 800+ store retail brand will receive category exclusive use of conference logos, marketing rights, SEC television and web presence, event signage, and merchandise. Additionally, the company will have the opportunity for a category exclusive presence at the Dr Pepper SEC FanFare during the Conference's annual men's basketball tournament and football championship weekend.

"We are pleased to sign a sponsorship agreement with a company like Macy's whose commitment to supporting academics and athletics closely parallels the overall mission of the SEC," said Mike Slive, Commissioner, Southeastern Conference. "We are confident in Macy's ability to make a positive impact on our fans and anticipate a long and mutually beneficial relationship."

"Macy's tremendous presence in the South deemed it a perfect fit as a sponsor of the Southeastern Conference," said Lawton Logan, SVP, U.S. Business Development, IMG College. "We thank Macy's for its dedication to college athletics and look forward to continuing to provide the very best to SEC fans throughout the country."
