Think!Sponsorship, the UK's largest one-day sponsorship conference for sponsorship seekers, recently posted an insightful video on sponsorship trends from their most recent conference. At around 17:15, Lee Bailey, former senior sponsorship manager at Diageo, kicks off the Q&A by providing a few examples of why sending a proposal with enough lead time is so critically important. "If you can't activate it the right way, you ought to just say no I'm not doing it" he says. Unfortunately, that's what happens all too often. The lesson: timing a well-prepared sponsorship proposal right may be just as important as the contents of the proposal itself.
