The Scottish Golf Union , established in 1920 and based in St Andrews, Fife, is the governing body for amateur golf in Scotland. It is affiliated to The R&A, which is also based at St Andrews, and is responsible for administering the Rules of Golf, as laid down by The R&A, at national level. The SGU organises tournaments, manages Scotland’s national teams, and promotes the game, for example by lobbying governments.

Yesterday, the investment group strengthened its relationship with the Scottish Golf Union and unveiled an agreement to extend the sponsorship of the national amateur squads for a further two years. The alliance between the two stretches back to 2007 and the latest deal comes on the back of the SGU announcing record-breaking sponsorship income of £360,000 for the last financial year.
