About Sponsor:

Located in Princeton and originally known as New Jersey Citizens United Reciprocal Exchange (NJ CURE), CURE is a not-for-profit direct writer of auto insurance providing thousands of responsible drivers an alternative to "for- profit" insurance companies. Now that the company has expanded outside of New Jersey, the original name was changed from NJ CURE to CURE Auto Insurance. Although certain aspects of the auto insurance crisis of the 1980's have passed, the overbearing high cost for auto insurance has not. As CURE continues its efforts to keep the Exchange free from high-risk drivers and vigorously defend against fraudulent claims, it will lead the way as the NOT-FOR-PROFIT solution for responsible drivers and the "CURE" for the continuously evolving auto insurance problems.

About Property:

The Brooklyn Nets are a professional basketball team based in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Basketball Association . The team is one of two NBA franchises playing in New York City, along with the New York Knicks.

The Nets have named CURE Auto Insurance as the presenting sponsor of the team's offseason. CURE will receive brand exposure throughout the offseason, as it will be included on all Nets communications, including press banners, press releases, e-mail campaigns, advertising and on the team's website. The Nets on their Facebook and Twitter pages also will run a CURE Auto Insurance NBA Draft VIP Sweepstakes in which four grand prize winners will receive exclusive access to draft related experiences staged by the team (Nets). A Nets official said the CURE deal is "low six figures." CURE COO Eric Poe "admits that some of his industry colleagues have asked him, 'Why the Nets?'" But Poe said, "If you're educated about the NBA, you know that a lot is about to happen with the Nets." In New Jersey, John Brennan noted "big moments nearing for the Nets" this offseason include having three first-round picksĀ in the June 24 NBA Draft, a July 1 "tip-off to an unprecedented free-agent frenzy," and the "likelihood of more ceremonies this summer in Brooklyn." Nets VP/Property Sales Chris Brahe said that the "confluence of events" offered a "far more tantalizing product of 'off-season presenting sponsor' than when the franchise created the idea with gum seller Wrigley in 2008." Brahe added that CURE's "sponsorship of a courtside hospitality area at Izod Center last season made it clear that they would be a good fit as this summer's corporate sponsor" (Bergen RECORD, 6/9).
