EasyJet Airline Company Limited is a British airline headquartered at London Luton Airport. It is the largest airline of the United Kingdom, measured by number of passengers carried, operating domestic and international scheduled services on over 500 routes between 118 European, North African, and West Asian airports. The parent company, EasyJet plc, is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. As of 30 September 2009, it employed 8,000 people, based throughout Europe but mainly in the UK.
The first annual seafront airshow took to the skies on Monday 26 May 1986 as the Grand Finale of the Southend Spring Festival. 2012 will be the 27th year that Southend-on-Sea has staged one of Europe's largest free Airshows. Staged against the backdrop of the Thames Estuary along almost 2 miles of seafront, the Southend Air Festival features aircraft displays from both military and civilian groups.
