The team’s primary sponsor is Rebellion, a Swiss manufacturer of high-end watches. Racing a pair of Rebellion R-One Toyota LMP1 cars, the team is competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Rebellion Racing won the FIA Endurance LMP1 Team Trophy in 2012 and 2013, and is currently leading the 2014 classification. Rebellion Racing recorded many successes in the USA; the Swiss team won the American fall endurance classic, “Petit Le Mans” in 2012 and 2013 on top of podium finishes at Sebring 12 Hours, Laguna Seca and Long Beach. Mouser employees enjoyed a special event last week during a “pit stop” visit from the Rebellion team and one of the racecars at the distributor’s worldwide headquarters in the D/FW Metroplex. “We are very excited to be able to partner with LEMO and Rebellion Racing and show them some Texas hospitality during race week,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics’ Vice President of Business Development. “In racing, the technology is advancing faster than ever before, which aligns with Mouser’s commitment of being the distributor known for introducing the newest products and latest technologies. The Circuit of the America’s course blends the spirit of Le Mans with the most competitive sports car racing in North America and adds a Texas flair.” During June, the team ran two Rebellion R-One cars on the Le Mans course, known as the “Grand Prix of Endurance” in France, to finish 1st in the LMP1-L class and 4th overall in the famed race. The team had the distinction of being the top finishing non-factory team, with driver Nico Prost driving across the finish just behind Audi and Toyota while managing to be well ahead of two LMP1 entries from Porsche. It was the team’s third top-six finish in four consecutive years. Racing is all about speed and endurance, and Mouser sees the racing sponsorships as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they impact the high-tech world of auto racing. Every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into a race car is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track. Car racing is the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.
