An unprecedented $2.75 million gift from the Qantas Foundation will be used by London's Tate and Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art to jointly acquire Australian contemporary artworks . The genesis of the idea was Qantas Foundation asking MCA director Elizabeth Ann Macgregor to think up a project that would be a "game changer" for Australian artists.
